Start Your Day with Lemon Water

I like starting my morning with a drink of lemon warm water and when that is not available I usually resort to green tea which is always at hand. Lemon water is a great way to start my day,
 it helps to put my body in an alkaline state. 

Lemon might seem too acidic, but it actually has the reverse effect because it helps boost my metabolism. Clean water and a slice of freshly squeezed lemon is one of the most highly rated energy boosters of all time.

Water with lemon gives the body clean energy through both hydration and oxygenation that provide extraordinary energy and mental clarity.

When added to your water, fresh lemon helps oxygenate the body and optimize enzyme function. This fruit is known to stimulate the liver’s natural enzymes and assist the liver in the process of getting rid of toxins such as uric acid. It’s advisable to drink this fresh lemon first thing every morning.

Switching up your morning beverage doesn’t have to be complicated. You could also do warm lime water, it’s as good as lemon. Warm lime water on an empty stomach first thing in the morning helps stimulate the gastrointestinal tract, digestion improves, heartburn is reduced and it helps the process of elimination. 

Lemon juice has citric acid which helps the enzymes to function better. It also stimulates the liver and aids in detoxification.

Your system gets in the action to expel any harmful chemicals and toxins out from the body by regulating the bowl movement and keep the digestive system healthy.

Just one glass of lemon water — prepared by adding the juice of half a lemon (1 tablespoon or 15 ml) to 1 cup (237 ml) of warm water does the trick of waking you up to active level in the morning. You can do this before you go for your 30 minutes a - day – walk.

You can also add other fruits and herbs for a variety of flavors — cucumbers, mint, watermelon are some popular options. Or if you prefer a tasty drink you can add 1 teaspoon of honey.

How to make the Lemon Drink

Ingredients

1.      1 cup of water

2.      Freshly squeezed juice of ½ lemon

3.      1 teaspoon of honey (optional)

Method

1.      Boil a cup of water till it reaches lukewarm temperature

2.      Add lemon juice to it and stir. (In case you like to add honey,1 teaspoon of honey is recommended).

3.      Drink first thing in the morning on an empty stomach.
